A little about me..... I am a very busy, working mum with three beautiful children (22 and twins aged 10) ... and two gorgeous cats, Bronte & Linton! Crafting and card making is my much loved passion which I do whenever I can.... in-between my day job, kids and life juggling! ...."The Attic Rooms" was created many years ago when I started making salt dough decorations. As all crafters know, one craft soon led to another and I was soon making cards and all sorts of other papercraft projects. I set up a small website to begin to sell my crafts and The Attic Rooms was born! The name 'The Attic Rooms' perfectly reflects my absolute love of all things vintage, unique 'finds' and dusty forgotten 'treasures' such as may be found in an old attic trunk!
My real and absolute passion is for anything vintage. Most of my work is very vintage or retro inspired although I do make modern styles for commission projects too. My items are all individually styled and I try to use lots of real vintage elements, such as original sheet music, papers from rescued books and ledgers, old photo's, ribbon, lace and buttons etc. These are re-worked and re-used, breathing new life into old and un-loved or damaged items. I pride myself on the tiny details and love to work on these to create really unique pieces.
I make many papercraft items but cards, tags, digital paper design and journal making are the main areas of work I enjoy the most. I spent a few months with the Sheena Douglass design team and became an 'Inkoid' (the name given to Sheena's design team members) and I produced samples to accompany Sheena's new product launches when they were aired on the Hochanda craft channel on tv. It was so exciting to see my work on national telly! I also wrote poetry pieces to tie in with the new launches and became known as the 'Poet-oid'! My first poem, 'Remember When?' was set to music and was read out to accompany design team samples on the television. It was such an exciting moment for me! It was an amazing few months and I enjoyed it immensely and learned a lot of new skills and crafting techniques.
Along with my day job, children, cats, running my Facebook page which supports The Attic Rooms, running the website, setting up a new Etsy store to run alongside this one and crafting in between, there is certainly no time to be bored! The Etsy store can be found at ...
I do hope you enjoy browsing the website. If you want to ask any questions or contact me regarding an item or commission piece, please feel free to contact me using the details in the 'Get in Touch' section. Thank you for visiting today!
