"The Attic Rooms" was created when I couldn't find the kind of Christmas tree decorations that I wanted to display on my own tree, at a sensible price. I adore nostalgia and the proper "old fashioned" idea of Christmas. Red and green, gingerbread and yesteryear inspired traditional style. I made some salt dough decorations for myself for the family tree and these were admired by friends, family and neighbours and so I realised that what I loved, might just be loved by others too. The Attic Rooms was born! I started out with salt dough decorations but quickly expanded to other handmade crafts and cards. My real passion is "anything vintage" and I totally adore retro and vintage inspired items. As I now sell mostly in face to face venues, this site now acts as a showcase and a gallery to display the kinds of things I make. Everything is made by my own hand and is individually created one piece at a time so you know it has been loved and cared for as it is made. On the rare occasion when I offer something that isn't made by myself I will always say so!!! The Attic Rooms is a small, home based company and intends to stay that way. I hate mass production processes and make all my items by hand from beginning to end. Each piece carries it's own unique little differences and that's what I love about them. My favourite decoration is the wonderful toy filled stocking, which oozes charm and nostalgia. My items are all individually styled and I try to use lots of vintage elements, such as original sheet music, papers from books and ledgers etc. These are reworked and reused.
